[END of PRODUCTION] Mitsubishi released the 2012 Eclipse Special Edition (SE) Series

First produce in 2006, now Mitsubishi released the new edition, 2012 Eclipse Special Edition (SE) Series for both Coupe and Spyder models, makes debut at 2011 New York Auto Show.

The 2012 Eclipse Special Edition (SE) Series includes “SE” side decals, black side mirrors and 18-inch dark finish alloy wheels on the Eclipse GS Sport versions of both the coupe and convertible models. Powered with 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 162 HP output power (for GS/GS Sport models) and 265 HP ouput power with 3.8-liter V6 engine (for the GT model) linked wth 5-speed Sportronic automatic transmission.

Standard safety equipment on all Eclipse models includes 4-wheel disc anti-lock brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD); Active Stability Control (ASC) and Traction Control Logic (TCL); and advanced dual front air bag supplemental restraint system (SRS) and side air bags.

Among another features are power-adjustable driver’s seat, rearview camera, Bluetooth hands-free phone access, heated side mirrors, air conditioning, 6 airbags, dual exhaust, blacked-out roof and a 9-speaker, 650-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system

Also recently rumored, without offering a replacement model, Mitsubishi has announced plans to end Eclipse production after the 2012 model year. Really??? End of production celebrating with Special Edition Launched???

No further information about pricing, but this 2012 Eclipse SE will start arriving at U.S. showroom later this year.
