A spokesperson of Lotus claimed that A reborn Elan will not be sold for at least five years. The Elan equipped with a two-seat and mid-engine coupe unveiled in concept form at the 2010 Paris auto show. That design was originally scheduled to launch in 2013 or 2014. Related to that plan, then Evora will become the Lotus lineup. It is likely the 2016 car is one vehicle with two possible names, or Lotus is considering two different vehicle proposals, one for the Elan name and one for Evora II.

It is expected that Evora will included the 345-hp Evora S and automatic-gearbox-equipped Evora IPS, both launching in 2011. These two models are pleased additions to the line, yet they won’t pay the company’s bills. More tweaked Evoras are coming, with the design from the start to accommodate an open-roof version, as wewe  saw that within a couple of years, too. Probably, Lotus will follow its modus operandi for closely each car it’s ever produced and introduced a lighter-weight, track-oriented Evora.

Esprit, another of Lotus’s Paris debutants arrives in 2013, while the Evora it self will be responsible to carry the Lotus brand. Production of the iconic and beloved Elise and Exige wiil end this summer. moreover if the Esprit lands in showrooms on schedule, Lotus assures that the supercar is still coming in 2013. The Evora has to figure on for most of the Lotus brand’s sales in the U.S.

Lotus claimed its plans for six models in Paris this past September. Yet, it is doubtful that the company can follow through.
