Another Electric Vehicle, Protoscar Lampo3

The third electric generation vehicle development which is appropriately called Lampo3 has been unveiled by Protoscar. Lampo which is meant lightning in Italian is lone concept at this stage. Yet a limited production run for the future are considered.

The Lampo3 has been built on the developed driving the two previous models some 300.000 km (18.641 miles). It is obviously higher than those previous cars. The subjected to 30,000km of real-world testing, Lampo3 is the truly output of 24 years of development under the brand’s ‘CleanCar’ project.

The Protoscar Lampo3 (‘Lampo’ means ‘lightning’ in Italian) is only a one-off concept at this stage, but the Swiss manufacturer is reportedly considering a limited production run for the future.

One motor on the front axle and two in the tail distribute the 420 kW (550 horsepower) and 900 Nm (660 lb-ft) produced of all-Brusa drivetrain into a tubular steel chassis.The formation allows for torque-vectoring trickery by the back wheels as well between the front and rear axles. The composite-bodied 2+2 coupé accelerates to 100 km/h (62 miles per hour) in 4.5 seconds and tops out at a respectable 220 km/h (136 mph).
The 32 kWh batteries made from four water cooled Brusa-branded packs using cells from Kokam delivering 200km (124 mile). The 360 kg (794 lb) energy storage mounted in its central tunnel.

Compared to the Nissan Leaf charger is 3.3 kW, the car improved a huge 22 kW on-board charge and able to charge plenty power supply in given time at one and a half hours. It also offers a CHAdeMO interface for DC fast charging and estimated in just ten minute plug-in session able to achieve 100 km (62 miles) of driving from a ten minute plug-in session.

It is planed to go on demonstration this summer by 2010 GT1 24 hours of LeMans-winner, although this original prototype is not for sale. The Swiss company said that a ‘micro-series’ production run is most likely possible.
