[OFFICIAL] 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster Revealed

After numerous batches of rumors, the BMW has finally unveiled the full detail and photos of its newest car, the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster. The 2012 SLS AMG Roadster is ahead to face the supercar’s world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show, this year at September. The German company’s PR reveal the first official photos without obscurely of the Roadster after a barely camouflage car in the early of this month.

The new Roadster has got its gull wing doors lost of its coupe counterpart. So that the German engineers have to ensure the car will not lost nothing else in the process. They chopped the roof, fit conventional doors, and stiffed the body.  As the results in a convertible the car only weighs 88 lbs more than the coupe. There are three colors available to be applied on its fully automatic roof, those are black, red or beige. The roof can be opened or closed just in 11 seconds. Furthermore, while the car moves at speeds up to 31 mph or 50km/h, the top still can operate.

The Roadster is packed in a new electronically controlled adaptive AMG Sport Suspension along with the convertible roof, AMG Performance Media system to track and display vehicle telemetrics, and an AMG Drive Unit to control those all equipment.

Under the hood of The Roadster can be found the AMG 6.3 liter mounted with V8 behind the front axle and seven speed dual clutch transmission which moves the rear wheels. Those engines can achieve, at the North American specification, the 563 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque with the eight cylinder engine, on the other side the Roadster produces 571 horsepower and 650Nm (480 lb-ft) of torque of the European model.

The Roadster is estimated to face against its rivals such as Ferrari 458 Italia, McLaren MP4-12C, Pagani Huayra and Lamborghini Aventador. The Roadster will be officially arrived on the market of Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.
