There are many rumors regarding to the project of Mercedes Benz on its baby SLS. The vehicle is dubbed SLC and it said that Mercedes Benz will add some more fuel to the SLC. German car magazine, Auto Bild reported that the Porsche 911 will become this SLC sportcar true rival. The German engineers equipped the SLC with two seater, the standard big V8 as usual used on the car had replaced with a six engine cylinder twin turbocharged unit which able to produces 350 horsepower and 500 horsepower, depends on the model.
Different from the Porsche 911 which employs a rear-engine configuration, the Mercedes will feature the SLC with a front mid-mounted unit. Moreover the Mercedes is expected to bring the SLC on the market with price under €100,000 equal to $144,000 so that the SLC will not be equipped with the gullwing doors as its brother has.
There has no more further information released yet, as well as the arrival date of the new sportcar. However Auto Bild said that there are two possibilities that the SLC which is based on the previous SLS will arrive in 2014, but another possibilities that Mercedes’ aim in creating the SLC is just to replacement instead, it is most likely that the SLC will go on sale at 2016.
The two door coupe will be invented in a team exercise between Mercedes-Benz’s regular passenger car department and the AMG, performance car division of Mercedes Benz. The soft top or convertible version also will be provided, which actually indicate that the SLC is most likely similar to the SLS.
