The new 2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder has had its debut at Le Mans. The new model now comes more powerful, aggressive, and lighter. The R8 GT is powered by a 5.3 liter V10 engine with an aluminum drawing its essence a system of FSI.

The engine features dry sump lubrication with which the engine gets better supply of oil, even during lateral acceleration and maximum straight-line. It also has a revised electronic control that it produces long-stroke engine 540 Nm and 398.28 lb-ft of torque at 6500 rpm and a peak power of 412 kW or 560 HP. The power unit of each is only 2.93 kg to move. With the V10 engine, the new Audi R8 GT can run 0-100 km/h or 62.14 mph in only 3.8 seconds with its top speed at 317 km/h or 196.97 mph.

The new R8 GT Spyder is lighter and it is proven that the Audi Space Frame (ASF) body only weighs 214 kg or 471.79 lb. This is because it is composed of cast nodes and extruded aluminum panels. Almost all parts of the body are made by hand in the workshop to the R8 factory in Neckarsulm.  This feature, Audi ultra-light technology, runs the key to the Audi R8 GT Spyder that with which the total weight of the new model is only 1,640 kg or 3,615.58 lb, making the new model 85 kg lighter than its technical bassis, the R8 5.2 FSI Quattro Syder with 1,725 kg.

The new Audi convertible also features a lightweight fabric that is very quiet and suited for highway cruising and electro-hydraulic that enables the car to lead up and down in 19 seconds, even up to 50 km/h.
