Electric vehicle might be one of solution for a better and eco-friendly car in the future. But, Ferrari (TM) will do nothing about it,
As quoted from caradvice, Outspoken Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo told U.S. publication engadget said,
“You will never see a Ferrari electric because I don’t believe in electric cars, because I don’t think they represent an important step forward for pollution or CO2 or the environment,” Mr Montezemolo said.
“But we are working very, very hard on the hybrid Ferrari. This should be the future, and I hope in a couple of years you can see it.”
That dosen’t mean Ferrari will never build anything that uses electricity to power their cars. At the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, Ferrari revealed their first hybrid, the Ferrari 599 HY-KERS Concept Hybrid. The car combined a lithium-ion battery pack with a 75kW electric motor. The system used regenerative braking energy to extend the vehicle’s range and provide an extra power boost, as you can find in Formula One.
