Chevrolet Miray Concept First Appereance in Europe: Frankfurt Preview

Chevrolet (TM) plan to show the Miray Concept to the public later at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, next month in Europe.

The Miray Concept will be powered with a hybrid powertrain with two front-mounted electric motors which power the front wheels. A mid-mounted 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine powers the rear wheels. Both electric motors produce around 15kW of power and are driven by a 1.6kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The engine linked with a dual-clutch transmission.

Featured carbon fibre all over the body, Miray Concept is a lightwieght. The look completed with a pair of 20-inch front rims and 21-inch rear wheels that made of alumium carbon-fibre composites.

Quoted from caradvice, Chevrolet Europe’s Wayne Brannon talk about the concept recently, said,

“Miray’ is Korean for ‘future’. The concept strengthens the bond between car and driver and takes a fresh look at what a sports cars of the future might be. Many of the components used in its drivetrain are an extension of our systems. The Miray demonstrates the potential for rescaling and extending today’s propulsion technologies.”

Inside, the car features an assortment of brushed aluminium, natural leather, white fabric and liquid metal surfaces.
