New Europe’s Toyota GT 86 Sports Coupe with 2.0-liter Engine

Just about to be revealed at the 2011 Tokyo motor show on November 30, Toyota (TM) release the initial details for production model of these sportscar which will be officially called the Toyota GT 86 (in Europe), in tribute to the Japanese firm’s GT car heritage and especially the Corolla GT (or Levin) AE86, which inspired its creation as reported from carscoop.
The GT 86 is the result of a joint Toyota and Subaru development programme with a length of 4240 mm, height 1285 mm and a width of 2.570 mm. 86 GT wheelbase is 2570 mm.
These 2 +2 seater configuration sportscar will use the Subaru Boxer engine and D-4S technology. 2000cc 4-cylinder engine produces power up to 200 hp (197 hp for european market) at 7000 rpm and torque of 205 Nm at 6600 rpm linked to rear wheel via 6-speed manual transmission.
The GT 86 is equipped with 17-inch wheel/tire package standard, low center of gravity at 475mm (18.7 in.), MacPherson struts at the front and double wishbones at the rear, also switchable vehicle stability control systems to deliver dynamic stability in order to improve driving experience.
