The 2012 season of Formula One World Championship will soon start. It is signaled by the participating teams that begin to reveal their vehicle that will be used in the race. After the constructor from Malaysia, Caterham, last week unveiling its new cars, this week was Vodavone McLaren that took its turn unleashing its new car, namely MP4-17. Exactly on Wednesday February 2 at McLaren Technology Center, the British team unveiled the all new MacLaren MP4-27 to replace its predecessor, the MP4-26, with which the two McLaren’s racers – Jenson Button and Lewis Hemilton – did not really succeed in the last season of Formula One championship with only 6 wins presented for the team.

The new MP4-27 is the evolution of the MP4-26. The newest is said to represent a comprehensive redesign, although the design looks somewhat similar to the previous one. The MP4-27 appears with new designs, along with other changes, at the front with its new nose which is a bit made down – as well as not including the stepped platypus nose already shown on the Caterham, and new mirror design and at the rear with new exhaust position and more tightly waisted rear bodywork. Additionally, the new MP4-27 also comes with updates in all major systems such as revision on its cooling system for better performance – redirecting the gearbox oil-cooler. As its predecessor, power is provided by 2.4-liter FO 108Z V8 engine from Mercedes-Benz.

With the new vehicle, the constructor team which bases in Woking, Britain, expects its racers to seize the lead in the championship. They are expected to bring up the team to be in the top position of constructors, defeating its competitors such as Ferrari and Red Bulls, a team which has returned reigning champion and made McLaren finish at the second position last season.
