After McLaren, Ferrari Revealed their F2012 Car

Ferrari (TM) had scheduled to launch its new vehicle a head of the 2012 season of Formula One World Championship at Maranello and proceeded to have its initial test at the Fiorano circuit. Unfortunately, the bad weather happening in much of Europe recently made it impossible to do. The circuit was heavily covered by snow so that Ferrari had to change its plan for its 2012 F1 car launch in the last minutes. Finally, due to the bad condition, the automaker decided to reveal its F2012 car via an online presentation.

The new Formula 1 car is a completely new design that comes with a distinctive ‘stepped’ nose and a double air intake – as it can be found in the 2011 McLaren car. It was named ‘F2012’ – a name that seems to be unimaginative if compared to its predecessor used in 2011, the F150o, which was taken from the celebration of the Italian Republic 150th anniversary.

The new F2012 will be used by both Ferrari’s racers, Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso. Regarding this, Massa commented that he was impressed by the car. He said that the car has a very aggressive look and he believed it was done with a lot of brainstorming. He also added that the impressing car was part of his dreams. However, he has to work harder in 2012. He is demanded to up his performance for making up his achievement in the last season that only ranked the fifth and scored less than half the points of Fernando Alonso, his team-mate. The Brazilian must impress his boss with his performance or his position as a Ferrari’s racer in 2013 will be risky. In one occasion, Luca di Montezemolo – Ferrari chairman – said

“Massa has to do something great, and something special, after a non-positive season. We are offering him the best conditions to do a better job.”
