Last year, Suzuki was managed to catch people’s attention at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show, which lasted from November 30 – December 11 by showcasing its new concept car, Suzuki Regina. Suzuki Regina has a unique design and bold styling in green. And now, in 2012, the Japanese automaker will again bring its green car to the spotlight at the Geneva Motor Show this year with some tweaks. In addition, the Suzuki Regina will come with a new name, the G70, when it comes to Switzerland. Therefore, it is not surprising if it raises a question whether Suzuki will bring the French-looking runabout into a production, especially for them who have been dreaming to have one of Regina parked in their garage since its first show in Tokyo.

Suzuki Regina or G70, which is the most economical in its class, is powered by a conventional 800 cc three-cylinder gasoline engine with turbocharger. It can achieve fuel economy of 75 miles per gallon (according to a test in Japan – JC08 – the car consumes 3.1 liters of gasoline for 100 kilometers or 32 km/l. It is also a light car with only weighing at 1,606 pounds or 730 kilograms – comparatively 300 kilograms lighter than Suzuki Swift. The compact car only produces 70 grams per kilometers of carbon emissions based on the New European Driving Cycle test, a figure from which the name G70 might be taken.

The car, which is smaller than Suzuki Swift, is equipped with brake regenerative system and start-stop. Both technologies have contribution in the car low fuel consumption. Suzuki Regina has a unique shape that results in a surprising amount of interior room. Although it only measures around 12 feet long and 5 feet wide, it is four-seater. Thanks to the shape, the car has high aerodynamic value resulting in 10 percent lower drag coefficient than cars in similar sizes.
