Ahead of the 2012 Formula One World Championship, a constructor from India, Force, reveals its new vehicle ‘the new Force VJM05. It was released at Silverstone on the same day as Ferrari unveils its new car for 2012 season, the F2012. At this time, Force’s racer, Paul di Resta, was given the chance to feel the driving of the new VJM05 at the Cilverstone cicuit.
Like the Ferrari 2012 and Caterham CT01, the new VJM05 also features the unfortunate stepped nose, a design that is part of the constructors’ efforts to deal with F1’s technical regulations. The new VJM05 is powered by an engine coming from Mercedes-Benz through a partnership with McLaren, as it did on the previous Forces’ F1 vehicle. Mercedes-Benz also provides the transmissions and KERS for the VJM05. For the 2012 season, the Force team, which is owned by Indian bazillionaire Vijay Mallya, will send its two racers di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg, who takes the place of Adrian Sutil due to his assault conviction, as well as a supplementary racer, Jules Bianchi.
With the new car, which is the second vehicle worked by the technical director Andrew Green who was succeed bringing the constructor ranked the sixth among others in the previous season, Force expects its two young racers to present a better achievement in the 2012 season of F1 Championship.
The Force team with its trading name Sahara Force India Formula One Team, which started out as Jordan Grand Prix and changed hands and names several times, has now been more developed. It has been a solid contender on race days, proven with having finished at the sixth in the constructors’ standings, behinds its competitors including Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes and Lotus Renault, which perform as the front runners at the 2011 F1 season.
