Customers seem to soon have the chance to possess the more practical version of Seat Mii City car, a model which was unveiled at the last quarter of last year. The car, which is the third and final offering of the VW Group’s new city car project, will come as 5-door version in 2012 after yesterday Seat held its launch. It was just one week after the unveiling of the 5-door version of the Seat Citigo, or two weeks prior to the revealing of Volkswagen UP.
The new 5-door Mii now comes with a little lower window line compared with the 3-door hatch, as well as the addition of the rear doors, like what its siblings do. The new 5-door Mii retains the senses of being sporty and dynamic of its predecessor, with considerably increased usability, as it was told by vice president for Research and Development Dr. Matthias Rabe. Being the same as the previous model, the new Mii city car measures 3.56 meters long, 1.64 meters wide, and 2.43 meters long of wheel base, with the trunk capacity varying between 250 and 951 liters, when the rear bench folded.
Dr. Matthias Rabe also said -quoted from carscoop-,
“With its low weight and modern drives, the Mii is both sporty and efficient at the same time. This applies especially to the Ecomotive model with its exceptionally low consumption and emissions figures.”
The new Mii, when it has its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, will be powered by only one engine option a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with two output versions, 60 HP and 75 HP. The vehicle is considered economical since it consumes 4.5 and 4.7 liter/100 km in average. However, there is also a variant of the 5-door Mii for them who are expecting the lower fuel consumption at only 4.1 and 4.2 liter/100 km with 96 and 98 g/km CO2 emissions, the Ecomotive variant. The variant is equipped with start-stop system, KERS and a set of low-resistance tyres.
The new Seat Mii 5-door version will feature Seat Portable infotainment system with a 5-inch touchscreen as standard on all models. It can be removed if the owner wishes for mobile use. Additionally, there will also come along with the vehicle other features as options such as a panoramic glass sunroof and the City Safety Assist automatic braking system. The braking system wills operate at speeds less than 30km/h and it helps avoiding or decrease the effects of low-speed accidents.
