After officially presenting to the public the 2013 Buick Encore at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit at the beginning of this year, General Motors also plan to place its European sibling into the spotlights. Yesterday, Opel and Vauxhall released new photos of the Mokka Crossover that show, for the first, the interior of the vehicle. The pictures are what actually the production version will look like. The vehicle will be showcased to public for the initial time at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show next month while the sale, in European market, will commence this fall.

Both the vehicles, Encore and Mokka, are actually the same in all parts except the design of the front grille, the interior trims and the engine options offered. The new Mokka Crossover measures 4.28 meters long and it is smaller than the BMW X1 or the Audi Q3. It is aimed to compete against vehicles in the B-segment crossover market such as the Nissan Juke, the upcoming Ford EcoSport and Peugeot 208, which is a 208 based SUV.

The new Mokka will be available as front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicle and is powered by a choice of three engine options the buyers can choose from its lunch. They include the naturally aspirated 1.6-liter petrol unit producing 115 PS and 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol unit offering 140 PS and 200 Nm of peak torque, as well as the 1.7-liter turbo diesel delivering 130 PS. The last two engine units are matched to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. Additionally, the Mokka Crossover is equipped with some highlighted features such as ESC, TC, HAS (Hill Start Assist), HDC (Hill Descent Control), bi-xenon headlights with High Bean Assist, front camera system, LDW (Lane Departure Warning) and FCA (Forward Collision Alert), as well as the second generation of the traffic Sign Recognition.
