Mazda New CX-5 Release in the UK – Pricing and Specifications

The new Mazda CX-5 made its debut last year at the Los Angeles Auto Show and now, it has been available for pre-order in the United Kingdom while deliveries will commence this spring. The CX-5 is the automaker’s first model that is equipped with Mazda SKYACTIV technology.

The new Mazda’s compact crossover comes with two driving system, front- and all- wheel drive, and four equipment levels including the SE-L, SE-L Nav, Sport and Sport Nav.

The Japanese automaker offers it with a choice of three power units consisting of a 2.0-liter petrol engine with output at 165 PS (163 bhp) and a 2.2-liter turbo diesel with two output versions of 150 PS (148 bhp) and 175 PS (172 bhp). Those engines are combined with a choice of 6-speed manual or automatic transmissions. The new CX-5 vehicles are claimed by the carmaker to have a combined fuel consumption ranging from 61.1 mpg to 47.0 mpg UK or 4.6 liter/100km to 6.0 liter/100km, depending on the models. In addition, the carbon emissions are from 119 to 144 g/km.

Mazda CX-5, which is the sibling of the Mazda CX-7, gets a host features depending on the equipment levels. In the base SE-L model, there are standard features including 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lights, dual-zone climate control air-conditioning, Smart City Brake Support and privacy glass, plus front and rear parking sensors.

On the other hand, the Sport levels are equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels and Bi-Xenon headlights supported by Active Front Lighting System outside, as well as full leather trim, heated front seats, powered driver’s seats and a reversing camera inside.

The dynamically-designed vehicle in its class costs starting from £21,395 on the road price for the SE-L and rises to £23,995 for the CX-5 Sport Nav in the 2.0-liter petrol versions. On the other hand, while the 2.2-liter 175 PS version price start from £27,195 for the AWD Sport, the 2.2-liter 150 PS version price starts from £22,995 with the SE-L equipment level and £24,295 when combined with the auto transmission to £25,592 in the Sport Nav and £24,695 in the entry-level AWD model.
